Drift
Silence has a shape, and the app draws it.
Every relationship on your grid carries a warmth value between zero and one. It falls on its own and rises only when somebody speaks.

What the number means
Warmth is not a score of the friendship. It is a measure of how recently it was tended. A twenty-year friendship at 0.21 is not a weak friendship. It is a strong one nobody has watered since spring.
What goes in
Three inputs, and none of them is engagement.
- Decay rateper panel
- How fast warmth falls with silence. Family decays slowly, work quickly. The panel decides, not the person.
- Days sincemeaningful contact
- Counted from the last note actually heard, in either direction. Sending into silence does not restore anything on its own.
- Recency booston being heard
- Playing or sending lifts warmth immediately. Contact repairs faster than neglect erodes, which is true of people too.
What comes out
The grid reorders itself.
Tiles are sorted by what they need from you, so the people you have been avoiding rise to the top left rather than sink out of view. Four things decide the order:
- 01How many notes are waiting unheard
- 02How long you have owed a reply
- 03How cold the tile has gone
- 04Whether you pinned them there yourself
The hard part
Care, not accusation.
A ledger of your neglect can read either way, and the difference is almost entirely tone. This is the hardest thing we do, and the least technical.
So the app never scolds, never counts your streak, and never tells the other person how long you took. When a note carries something heavy, the lighter touches switch off entirely. Nothing here should ever be clever about grief.
